Whether assisting patients directly or organizing the records behind their care, she helps ensure that every patient’s story, and every smile, is thoughtfully documented.

Long before Sally Kurti began working in orthodontics, she was drawn to the idea of helping people smile. Dentistry was her second choice of study at the university after architecture, although pursuing a dental degree was not possible at the time. She went on to earn her degree in architecture, never realizing that her interest in dentistry would eventually find another path into her life.

Sally’s marriage to the late Landon Kurti brought her to North Carolina and introduced her to Kurti Orthodontics. As she became part of the practice, she found that she genuinely enjoyed working alongside the staff in the office and contributing wherever she was needed. What began as a personal connection to the practice grew into an opportunity to explore her own longstanding interest in dentistry and help patients in meaningful ways.

One of Sally’s most important roles is serving as a Spanish translator, helping Spanish-speaking patients and their families understand their care and communicate comfortably with the clinical team. Over time, she also learned chairside assisting, helped clean the office when needed, and cross-trained in nearly every aspect of the practice. Her willingness to step in wherever she could gave her a broad understanding of how the entire team works together to care for patients.

Today, Sally continues contributing through the practice’s back-end systems. She processes patient imagery, including X-rays, converts it into the appropriate file formats, and places it within each patient’s record. Although patients may never see this part of the process, it allows the doctor to access the images needed to evaluate treatment and make informed decisions while preserving a clear, long-term record of each patient’s care.
