Joyce DentonOrthodontic Lab Director

With more than four decades of experience, Joyce is a living connection to the history, knowledge, and heart of Kurti Orthodontics. Now serving as our Orthodontic Lab Director, she helps ensure that every appliance leaving the lab reflects the same care and high standards that have always defined the practice.

Joyce joined Kurti Orthodontics on May 18, 1983, beginning a career that has spanned more than four decades of remarkable change. She spent approximately 30 years assisting patients chairside before transitioning primarily into lab work. Although she officially retired, Joyce returned to help guide the lab through an important period of transition. Today, she serves as our Orthodontic Lab Director, bringing her experience, precision, and steady leadership to the Murphy office every Tuesday and Thursday.

Joyce is also a living connection to the history and culture of Kurti Orthodontics. Through every new technique, technology, and season of growth, she has helped preserve something that has never changed: the belief that patients should be known, cared for, and treated like family. Her deep knowledge of the practice, and her commitment to making sure every job is done well, continue to make her an invaluable part of the team.

Quick Questions & Answers

Looking back over all those years, what are you most proud to have been part of?
Establishing a caring practice.

What stands out about the way patients are cared for here?
We try to talk to our patients and build a friendship. If they have a prom, we get them to show us pictures. If they’re on the volleyball team or basketball team and their team is winning, we make little notes in the chart. If they’re going on a trip or a cruise, we put that in the notes so we’ll know to ask them about it next time. It’s being interested in their lives. They’re not just a number, and they’re not just a patient.

How was Dr. Kurti as a teacher?
Great! He was a great teacher. He would do it himself first, and then he would want us to duplicate what he did. He was never mean or ugly. He was very kind, one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.
