Dr. Ralph KurtiFounder and Orthodontist

Dr. Kurti has spent nearly five decades creating smiles across Western North Carolina, combining deep clinical experience, practical problem-solving, and a patient-first philosophy that has shaped the practice since 1978.

Dr. Kurti founded Kurti Orthodontics in Franklin in 1978 and soon after expanded the practice to Murphy, where he continues to care for patients and families throughout the region.

His path to orthodontics began with a degree in biology from Columbia Union College. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and later completed advanced specialty training in orthodontics there. His training focused on diagnosing orthodontic problems and helping patients achieve healthy, well-functioning smiles.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Kurti also served as a medical missionary in Guam through the Seventh-day Adventist Church. That experience reflected a deep commitment to service that continues to shape his approach to patient care today.

Over the years, Dr. Kurti has become known not only for his clinical skill but also for his practical, problem-solving mindset. Patients and staff often describe him as a “smile builder” and an “office MacGyver”—someone who enjoys figuring out creative solutions, whether in orthodontic treatment or around the office.

When he isn’t moving teeth, Dr. Kurti enjoys operating heavy equipment and working on land projects, happily “moving dirt” as a way to relax and recharge. It’s a hobby that reflects the same hands-on curiosity and mechanical problem-solving that he brings to orthodontics.

After decades of practice, Dr. Kurti continues to enjoy what he has always valued most about his work: helping people feel comfortable with their smiles and building long-term relationships with the families and communities he serves.
